quoted from Tad :

" Okay, so once there was this cow lying in a field. And it mooed and mooed and mooed. A passer-by asked the farmer,

"Why is your cow mooing so much?"

"Because he’s lying on a nail" came the swift response.

"Well, why doesn’t he just move?" The passer-by asked. To which the farmer answered,

"Because it doesn’t hurt that much."

Don’t you know loads of people who are just like that? Stuck in jobs or situations that they don’t really enjoy, but they are not that bad, and so they stay put. Well to me that is as absurd as our cow not shifting its butt off the nail, and I for one have decided that I do not want to cause damage to my behind, not if I can avoid it. "

Vietnam wins footwear dumping case in canada

thss is our first winning case..very encouraging.. vietnam has also been in another battle on Basa Fish Dumping with US.
vIETNAM WINS FOOTWEAR DUMPING CASE IN CANADA
VNB 10/1/03
Vietnam has won a legal battle about water-proof footwear and footwear sole price dumping in Canada, and the foreign country has scrapped a punitive tariff imposed on the imports after it was determined that activities by Vietnamese exporters has not caused, or threaten to cause, material injury to the local industry. The January 7 revocation of the duty imposed by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) means that import taxes will go back to around 20% and the CCRA will have to refund Vietnamese companies any anti-dumping duties they had paid previously. The anti-dumping duty followed a complaint by the Shoe Manufacturers Association of Canada (SMAC) last April that Vietnamese companies used dumping activities in the sale of waterproof footwear and footwear
soles. The Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) then slapped on a 72% levy on importers in September, with some importers facing tariffs as high as 187%, for four months. Vietnam exports about $ 40 million worth of footwear products each year.

A mark of maturity within a man is ...

"to accept that a part of yourself is woman-you come from a woman.Qualities that you got from your mother are sensitivity, creativity and a sense of giving.Whereas what you get from your father are sense of challenge, the fighter, the need to win.To become a whole person you need to accept both."

OF FLOWERS BLOSSOM IN THE SUN

Blue sunFlower by Rene Alvarado Strange thing:The image of sunflowers reaching booming with all their energy 's been flyin' in my mind these two days :).I wanna find some sunflowers.

So my first day of 2003 was spent with frens. We had a Group Bday party of me and 2 close frens (we ve been together for 8 years :)and all born between 1st and 10 Jan),ate loz of pizzaz, steak, chocolate cakes and mixed fruits. Then a noisy funky Karaoke time .Next, went to play bowling.Bowling waz not so enjoyable cuz we played aweful :P and met a ridiculous guy :( so we went to Opera house had a freaky picture time :P.. Finally, went to Tea SHop, had great blast and enjoyed tea on the street side in a very Hanoi style. Loved it! :) wheee i waz like" Hanoi is damn beautiful." sometimes we just too bizzy or too ignorant to recognize such beauty so close to us.

When on streets in downtown,i ve been lookin 4 sunflowers :) but couldnt find any :(.Hanoi is too cold for sunflower now 10 Celcius geeze :( :) . .then my family had a very bad news.So i waz a bit down. But well i dont wanna share the bad news here. Just wanna share the positive feelings 4 today. :) And i saw some daisies which looked like *little* sunflowers :P ..They gave me energy :). Today many friends did not show up.Many friends came and it was a great party. A special one since it may be our last party after 8 years together :(.On my real birthday, my *ex* best fren's gonna go to UK. Next year the rest of will be going to different places.I feel a little sad. And suddenly thought of the character Anne in Anne of Green Gable hehe :) We had wanted to grow up fast. And now we feel likes time flies.Nostalgia. We wanna be like b4 again:( Turn back the time, be kids:P

B4 going home, i saw many *mobile flowers shop* (in Hanoi we have loz of women from village carrying baskets of flowers on their bikes going around and selling flowers :)).. So many beautiful flowers. In love with them. But no sunflower :( :) but i saw some beaitufl daisies ..light purple or maybe a pink.. or mixed :P. well the color looks pretty like this little flower. So i got a huge bunch of them for my arabic teachers. Then home.checked out notes and ecards from frens. Writing an update on Tig. So thaz my 1st day of 2003 until now :P But well i saw loz of sunflowers today, didn't i?:P I hope everyone's gonna bloom with all our energy.Lets shine :) Talking about *shine*, i love so much this piece of Jewel's that i included it as conclusion for my winning essay on youth and globalisation :
Let us raise ourselves Like laterns With the millions of others With the mad And the forgotten And the strong of heart To shine
I also put this piece on my literature notebook cover to read while drawing whatever stuff when feeling bored in class :P.very inspirational! :) Oh!watching Vietnam Intellects Award 2002 live on TV. This a second annual award for youth achievments in ICT in Vietnam.Just a couple months ago i had a party with a group of tech guys and tonite 5 of them kick ass. They just ot 2 prizes on impressive and practical product.Their product's about setting up video chat thru internet in Vietnamese language and aims to tackle monopoly problem of postal service in vietnam. (we have only one postal company in Vietnam) I waz kinda dissapointed cuz forgot to ask for some tickets.Watching thru TV is not cool. But now i m excited :P :)
